For non-EU/EEA students the possibilities to take on paid work are restricted to a maximum number of hours per week or to seasonal work, for which a work permit is required. Non- EU/EEA students should not expect to be able to earn a substantial income.
Facilities for foreign students
The International Student Office (ISO) assists foreign students with the enrollment procedure, obtaining a visa and residence permit, getting adequate health and liability insurance, and many
other practical matters. The Housing Office arranges accommodation of foreign students in so-called international student houses or 'among the Dutch.' You can apply for accommodation through the ISO.

Entry requirements
In order to be accepted for one of degree programmes, foreign students are expected to have qualifications that are equivalent to the entry requirements for Dutch students. Since educational systems vary greatly from one country to another, it is not possible to indicate for each country the exact diplomas or certificates that qualify applicants for admission to a study programme. Students are requested to provide, with their application, a complete overview of their educational background, supported by copies of diplomas and certificates.
NUFFIC (Netherlands Organisation for International Co- operation in Higher Education; www.nuffic.nl) advises us on the acceptability of foreign credentials in terms of the Dutch system.
In addition, you must be able to prove that you have a good command of English. A non-native speaker of English is generally required to have obtained a certain TOEFL or IELTS score. For detailed information on the entry requirements for the individual programmes, consult our website.
