Canterbury is a beautiful, historic, walled city. It is the main city for the region of East Kent, acting as a dynamic centre with major shops and services. In the centre of the medieval town is the famous cathedral, one of Europe’s great buildings. The city has a vibrant cultural life and is home to two universities. anterbury is located in the ‘Garden of England’ and is surrounded by beautiful countryside famous for its hop fields. It is close to the costal towns and seaside resorts of Margate and Broadstairs with their sandy beaches, to the fishing ports of Whitstable and Folkestone and to the world famous castles of Dover and Leeds.
London is only 100 km away by motorway, and one and a half hours by regular train or coach from London’s Victoria station. It is also only a 20 minute train journey from Ashford International and the high speed train link to Paris and the rest of Europe. Canterbury is 30 minutes from Manston international airport with good value direct flights to major British and European cities, and two hours by taxi from the main international airports of London of Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted.
Located in the South East of Britain, Canterbury benefits from one of the warmest climates in the UK. It also ben
efits from its cultural associations with Chaucer, the father of the English language, Dickens, and many other famous artistic and historical figures including St. Augustine and St. Thomas Becket. Visitors can enjoy the Canterbury Tales and City Heritage museums or walk in the ruins of St. Augustine’s Abbey. Every October the city puts on a lively international cultural festival of music and shows. Throughout the year there is a regular cultural programme of entertainment on offer in its two theatres.

Introduction to Christ Church
Christ Church is a state-funded British university. Established as a teacher training college in 1962, it has grown rapidly to become a very successful new university of 14,000 full and part time students, offering Bachelor and Masters degrees in the faculties of Health, Education, Humanities, and Business and Science. It was founded by the Church of England and in spite of its expansion maintains its original founding values of acceptance, tolerance and care for others. Visitors often comment on the friendliness of students and staff on the campus. Caring for and supporting the student population is central to the philosophy of Christ Church. International students are supported by an International Office dedicated to helping them and by the student union which runs various societies for international students.
Christ Church welcomes all students from an increasingly diverse range of backgrounds creeds and faiths. Over 1000 non-British students attend Christ Church each year for short courses or on degree programmes. At present over 80 different nationalities are represented on the campus today.

Canterbury Christ Church offers a wide range of BA / BSc Degrees. Of particular popularity are: Applied Criminology, Business Studies, Digital Culture and Media, Digital Media, Early Childhood Studies, Film Radio and Television Studies, Forensic Investigation, Music, Popular Music Technology, Sport and Exercise Science.

Of particular interest are the following 1 year full time Masters programmes:
MBA, MSc Business Administration, Broadcast Journalism, Health promotion and Public Health, Media Production, Music (performance).
For Film Radio and Television Undergraduate bachelors applicants there is a questionaire that also needs to be filled in and sent with the application form. The same is true for the Masters in Film Producaton. Applicants for the Masters in Broadcast journalism need to also undertake a voice test. Informaton is attached.
